Green Building: Containerised cities

I'm interested in the concept of affordable housing, not just the "subsidised housing that is what is usually called Affordable in Australia, but ways to get the cost down, so that the real cost is lower.
Container City is an interesting project in London uses recyclable containers for homes. I've seen this before in disaster relief, and as a theory, but not as a practical project with attractive homes.
