Hi all;
I joined the list about a week ago and am surprised that there's been
no traffic. I've got a few questions that I hope won't rehash too many
old issues.
- is there a relatively fool-proof document explaining the steps for
creating a URL to someone with knowledge of basic Internet services?
- is there interest in such a doc if one doesn't already exist?
- is there a standard way of describing what happens once a connection
is established with a standard Internet service? I'm thinking here of
a way to encode directions for, say, entering a conference on The
WELL or PeaceNet/EcoNet after a telnet connection has been
established.
- is there a mechanism for coding non-Internet resources, such as a
FidoNet echo?
The drive behind URLs seems to be automation, but as someone involved
in cataloging Internet and other resources, I'm wondering about
adapting the URL to these other types of application.
Thanks, sorry if these are dumb questions, and happy holidays.
Eric
