Oh no. Do I hear a rumbling in the distance? Yes, it's the
coming of another IETF! ARRRGGHHHH!!!!
Sorry, I just see this as the first of the flood that
always preceeds the meeting as we work ourselves into a
frenzy. The week long blood-letting is then followed by a
period of calm before we all start to feel guilty about
the gazillion things we haven't finished. Finally, the
chairs start sending out these gentle messages and the
natural lifecyle of the IETF begins anew.
Kinda inspiring in a way... :-)
And yes, I apologize for wasting everyone's time and space
on this. I too have far better things I should be doing.
It's just that such signs of renewal are so welcome up
hear in Montreal (current outside air temperature -30C),
where spring isn't expected to arrive before some time is
late 1995. It's made worse when you realize that Alan is
now in Orlando, Florida (current outside air temperature I
don't even want to know... :-)
Again, apologies and I'm going back to work.
