News agents and servers for news clients. Yes. NNTP is a very poor interface
for the user-client. Using HTTP could speed up reading of a the articles in
a newsgroup by a factor of six on my machine.

News Mail and FTP are all much more powerful when integrated. I do not
want a separate newsreader. I want to read and post News and Mail from
a browser. Thats the sort of browser I am writting and so the functionality
is going to be created. If I don't do it someone else will.

The question is will we have a standard interface or will there be more
than one incompatible interpretation of a URL?
