Subject: what the problemis
So many solutions, but here's the problem:
which technology is going to be the best solution please??
I want to be able to look up a service and give it the
name of a person, the name of a resource or the name of
an application and the service will return metadata on
the unique name , to allow further negotiation on what
to do next
eg get the best deal, negotiate a common format, etc.
related services appear to be whois++ and the handler service
at cnri.reston.va.us, among others ( please let me know others)
Also, what about SGML format for the URC metadata ? Some form of
structured yet human-readable document is needed - and SGML
can handle more structure than can a RFC1357-type table.
Cheers,
