The report "The ANSA Naming Model" has now been made publicly available. I
think the readers of this list may find it useful because, as it says in the
abstract, "This report (1) defines a naming model, which permits the
discussion of federation of separately administered naming systems, (2)
explores the relationship between the concepts of decentralised name
management in distributed computer systems, and (3) provides examples of the
application of the resulting naming model in the analysis of existing systems,
designs and standards."

The abstract can be found at <URL:http://www.ansa.co.uk/phase3-doc-root/approve
d/APM.1003.01.html>, and includes a link to the document which is at
