Can renewable energy replace coal? Recent months have seen a new push from the coal and nuclear industries to discredit renewable energy. The common criticism is that renewable energy cannot provide ‘baseload’ power and therefore cannot replace coal-fired power stations. Greenpeace energy campaigner Mark Wakeham tackles the renewables sceptics (who not so long ago were climate sceptics) and answers some common questions.
