The guardian has an interesting story on an upcoming report by the Climate Change Committee.

This committee was setup by an act of parliament to advise the government on the appropriate scale of cuts.

Lord Turner of Ecchinswell, the committee chairman, told the Guardian. "We have to almost totally decarbonise the power sector by 2030, well before 2050,"

This contrasts with the Garnaut report for Australia which talks about 10% by 2020.
